Sean Saari is the Partner-In-Charge of the Midwest region of Marcum’s Advisory Services group. He has nearly 15 years of experience and assists clients by developing credible and defensible valuations and financial analyses. Sean has testified as a financial and valuation expert numerous times. He has a practice concentrated in the areas of business valuations, litigation advisory services, domestic disputes, shareholder disputes, financial reporting, complex damages analysis and modeling, strategic planning, succession and estate planning, and mergers and acquisitions. Sean strives to take complex financial issues and simplify them for those involved in the matters in which he serves as a financial expert. He has extensive experience in valuing business ownership interests, asset/separate property tracing, and other related financial analyses in both litigated divorces and those handled through a variety of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) options.
In addition to being a CPA, Sean is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He has authored more than 100 articles, e-books, blogs and whitepapers and is a regular columnist to Cleveland-area monthly business magazines. His writing has received national recognition in the business valuation field, including the NACVA’s Jeffrey R. Salins Award for report writing. In 2014, Sean was named to the inaugural “40 Under 40” class by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, in 2016 he was presented with the AICPA’s “Forensic and Valuation Services Standing Ovation” award, and in 2019 he was named as one of “40 Under 40 in the Accounting Profession” by CPA Practice Advisor.
Sean earned his MBA with honors from Case Western Reserve University where he was presented the Dean’s Award for Academic Achievement and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
