Attorney Heather (Dyer) Johnston, is an associate with Phillips & Mille, Co., L.P.A. located primarily in Middleburg Heights, with a satellite office in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Peninsula, Ohio. She works in the firm’s litigation department where she focuses in the area of domestic relations, also known as family law - divorce/dissolution including domestic partnerships and civil unions, legal separations, child custody /visitation, child /spousal support, grandparent visitation, paternity, and adoption.
Attorney Johnston is licensed to practice in Ohio and does so primarily in Cuyahoga, Summit, Medina, Portage and Stark County. Attorney Johnston is certified in forensic interviewing by the State of Ohio Attorney General’s Office “Finding Words” prestigious and innovative program. She is also a trained mediator, including certification in Family Law mediation, trained in Collaborative Divorce and an experienced guardian ad litem and parent coordinator.
Attorney Johnston prides herself on her relationship with clients during the highly personal and emotional process involved in family law matters. While a straight forward, client centered approach with interests based resolution is always part of her family law practice, collaborative divorce provides a venue that is tailored to those goals. As a mother of three and trained guardian ad litem, Attorney Johnston is sensitive to child related matters and focuses on the preservation of the family through the difficult transition of divorce.
Attorney Johnston, a member of the American, Ohio State, Cleveland Metro and Akron Bar, earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Levine College of Law in Gainesville, Florida. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Business & Organizational Communications with a minor in Sociology from the University of Akron in where she was on the Dean's list, an honors student and was inducted into the Golden Key National Honors Society.
Attorney Johnston served as a judge for the Capital Law School National Moot Court Competition in Child Welfare and Adoption Law, on the Board of Trustees for the Peninsula Library and Historical Society and is a member of the Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Woodridge Local Schools PTO.
