Brian Potter serves as the Ohio practice leader for the Stout Risius Ross’ Family Law Valuation & Consulting group. Mr. Potter has provided valuation, litigation advisory, and forensic accounting services for numerous purposes, including marital dissolutions, shareholder disputes, estate and gift taxation, purchase price allocation, Employee Stock Ownership Plans, brokerage fraud, bankruptcy, potential transactions and intellectual property valuations. Mr. Potter has extensive experience with intellectual property and brokerage fraud litigation, having provided advisory services in several patent infringement, misappropriation of trade secret and securities fraud matters. Additionally, Mr. Potter has been involved in the appraisal of real estate for various property types, including office, industrial and retail buildings, and vacant land.
Mr. Potter’s experience encompasses a wide range of industries, including automotive, physician practices, real estate agencies, real estate appraisal, insurance, chemical manufacturing, printing press manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, private equity funds, hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, tobacco, retailing, property management, oil and gas distribution, restaurant, consulting and apparel. Mr. Potter has also provided valuation and consulting services for several multinational clients.
Mr. Potter earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Miami University. While at Miami, Mr. Potter earned CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America honors for his academic and athletic achievements while a member of the university’s varsity football team. Mr. Potter has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. In addition, Mr. Potter is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
